In 2006, the Craftsman Truck Series regulars dreaded every race Mark Martin appeared in because he could have won every race. They got a reprieve when he didn't run the Daytona race but Martin was back for Friday's San Bernardino County 200 at California Speedway driving the #21 Bad Boy Mowers Ford for Wood Bros. JTG Racing. Carl Edwards won the pole and there were plenty of Toyotas lurking about.
Mike Skinner's #5 Toyota led the first part of the race. He started putting trucks a lap down. Everyone pitted after a lap 32 caution. Mark Martin led the race off pit road. A Kraig Kinser spin brings out the second caution on lap 52. Johnny Benson's #23 Totota Certified Used Vehicles Toyota leads after pit stops. Martin's in fourth but get the lead back on lap 69. David Starr spins to bring out the third caution.
Most guys pit but Martin & Skinner stay out to lead. Casey Kingsland spins to bring out a caution on lap 89. On the lap 91 restart, Ron Hornaday's #33 AESHR Chevy gets around Skinner for second. Then Matt Crafton hits the wall and spins out David Starr to bring out a caution. Martin gets a poor restart on lap 95 and Hornaday spins him out (pictured). Martin finishes 23rd. This gives Skinner the lead and he's able to hold off Hornaday for the win.
