Artist:Thornley

Song:Beautiful

Album:Come Again

Canadian singer singer songwriter and guitarist Ian Thornley is best known as a member of the 90s band Big Wreck. When they split up in 2002, he formed the band Thornley. When that didn't work out, he reformed Big Wreck and he leads them today. He was born July 21, 1972 in Toronto. While he was studying jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1993, Big Wreck was formed. They moved to Toronto and signed with Atlantic Records. When their 1997 album In Loving Memory Of.... was certified 2XPlatunum without a hit single, it looked like Big Wreck had a big future. But when the 2001 album The Pleasure and the Greed flopped, Big Wreck split up. After auditioning to be lead singer of Velvet Revolver, Thornley returned to Toronto and discussed his situation with Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger. He signed with Kroeger's 604 label and agreed to form a band. That band was Thornley. The other members were Ken Tizzard on bass and Sekou Lumumba on drums. The 2004 album Come Again was released on Roadrunner Records in the US. It's available as a digital download. Gavin Brown produced and he wrote most of the songs with Thornley. The album did OK in Canada but flopped in the US. Tizzard and Lumumba left Thornley. Thornley attempted to keep the band together and he released an album in 2009. When that went nowhere, Thornley reformed Big Wreck and he still leads a version of that band today. They released a new album a few months ago. Thornley is the only original member. Here's the video for Beautiful by Thornley.
