Here's the match video of Asuka defending her RAW Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley from last night's Wrestlemania. The only reason the WWE was doing this match is Charlotte Flair got COVID-19 and wasn't available. I'm not a fan of newcomers winning titles out of nowhere. The build for both women's title matches was piss poor. I like Bianca and Rhea but I don't think either should have won. Rhea comes out to her theme performed live by a singer I have never heard of. I hate the song anyway and the live version was worse. If you like Screamo, great. It's not for me. Asuka is wearing all new gear except for her usual red Nike running shoes and t-shirt. The match was fine. It was competitive. The one big move had Asuka hitting a DDT from the apron to the floor. That's a new move but it was never supposed to be a finisher. That will get many YouTube views. There was too much Rhea taunting Asuka and Asuka's reaction to it. There was plenty of time wasted. After Asuka wasn't able to get the Asuka Lock on Rhea, I knew that was it. Rhea's Riptide, which is basically a powerbomb and it was over. Rhea has her Wrestlemania moment. Congratulations. But let me ask you this. When is Asuka getting her Wrestlemania moment? Look, she's going into the WWE HOF the moment she retires. Of course she should have got her Wrestlemania moment in 2018 but Vince McMahon couldn't make up his mind. And since then Charlotte Flair doesn't understand why fans hate her. That match is the reason. If Asuka wins that match, no one would care about last night's match. She deserves that Wrestlemania moment. The match is pretty good so enjoy the video.
