Artist:FEVER 333
Song:Made An America
EP:Made An America
The rap metal group FEVER 333 had success when a couple of songs from their 2018 EP Made An America charted. They were also nominated for a Grammy. It was their major label debut. They have since released an album. Jason Aalon Butler was lead singer of Letlive. They were about to disband when Butler encountered Blink-182 lead singer Travis Barker. Those two and producer John Feldmann spent Super Bowl Sunday together. They discussed possibly forming a new group that would be a mix of hip hop and punk with subversive lyrics. Butler contacted former The Chariot guitarist Stephen Harrison and pitched the concept. Former Night Verses drummer Aric Improta was brought in and they performed a popup show at Randy's Donuts in Inglewood, CA July 4, 2017. Then they announced the formation of FEVER 333 on Instagram. They promised a mixed race band of rap, punk and metal with subversive lyrics. They released a couple of singles. A video included a surprise appearance by Barker who is producing along with Feldmann. They signed with Roadrunner Records and the 2018 EP Made An America was released. The single Made an America reached #21 on the Mainstream Rock chart. The video features appearances by Barker and rapper Vic Mensa. Made An America was nominated for a Grammy. This EP is available as a digital download. FEVER 333 has since released the 2019 album Strength in Numb333rs. The political activism is a big part of their music. It remains to be seen if that can work. It's too soon to tell. Having a big star like Travis Barker behind them is a positive. But remember he's not in the band though he and Feldmann write and produce all the songs with Butler. Here's the video for Made An America by FEVER 333.
