Valentina Shevchenko vs Jessica Eye to main event June 8 UFC show

The UFC announced today that UFC 238 will be June 8 at the United Center in Chicago. Yesterday Brett Okamoto of ESPN reported that Valentina Shevchenko will defend the UFC Flyweight Championship against Jessica Eye. Jessica is 3-0 since moving to Flyweight. But they were some of the softest wins I have ever seen. Well, a win is a win, I guess. In her last fight she beat Katlyn Chookagian by split decision. Katlyn uses this keep away strategy that she has used in all her fights. It worked but she just didn't get the decision. Because it was a split decision, Dana White refused to announce Jessica's title shot after the fight. Recently Jessica moved to Las Vegas to train at the UFC PI. I expect this fight to go the distance. The big difference is Valentina is an elite kickboxer and Jessica isn't. So Valentina should retain. The Chicago Tribune reported two other fights. In a Strawweight bout, Tatiana Suarez will face Nina Ansaroff. Tatiana is 28 years old from California. She's 7-0 and she won TUF 23. She has been on a tear since recovering from knee surgery. Nina is 33 years old. She trains at ATT in Florida. She's been mediocre for most of her career. But lately she has been playing the spoiler especially her recent win over Claudia Gadelha. I expect the winner of this fight to get a title shot. In a Flyweight bout, Katlyn Chookagian will face Joanne Calderwood. Katlyn uses this keep away strategy devised by her coach Mark Henry. It was working great until she lost by split decision to Jessica Eye. Of course Joanne is from Scotland but she now trains at Syndicate in Las Vegas. She beat the highly touted Ariane Lipski in her last fight. Joanne is a kickboxer. We all know what Katlyn will do. Can Joanne catch up with her?
