Here's the match video of Marina Rodriguez vs Jessica Aguilar from last night's UFC show in Philadelphia. Jessica came in as a late replacement for Alexa Grasso. Jessica is probably at the point where she should think about retirement. Marina drew with Randa Markos in her UFC debut. She's a kickboxer. Jessica broke her nose early in round one. After that there was blood all over the place. Then there was an eyepoke and Marina was admonished. But Jessica was still able to get a takedown and almost an armbar submission. Marina escaped and then another eyepoke. This time the ref took a point from Marina. When the fight restarted, Marina knocked Jessica down. I scored the round 10-8 for Jessica because of the near submission. Things didn't go so well for Jessica after that. She got hammered in round two. It just wasn't quite enough for a stoppage. I scored the round 10-8 for Marina. Marina continued to pound Jessica in round three. I scored the round 10-9 for Marina. Marina won by unanimous decision. Both fighters went to the hospital afterwards. It looks like Marina hurt her arm. Jessica took such a pounding in this fight that I would like to see her retire. But you know how fighters can be.
