Here's the match video of Hannah Cifers vs Polyana Viana from last night's UFC show in Las Vegas. Polyana is the Brazilian girl who got a lot of publicity for beating up a mugger while waiting for a bus. She lost her last fight to JJ Aldrich, a fighter she should have beaten but JJ has a great coach. I felt the same about this fight. Hannah came to the UFC as a late replacement a few months ago. She's a striker but I don't think she is a UFC caliber fighter. Round one was close but I scored it 10-9 for Hannah and so did the judges. Neither fighter looked good. Round two was similar but I scored it 10-9 for Polyana and so did the judges. I scored round three 10-9 for Hannah. Two of the judges scored it the same and the third scored it 10-9 for Polyana. So Hannah won by split decision. It was a close fight but not a good fight. And for the second straight fight, Polyana lost a fight that she should have won. It just shows that even the lower levels of the UFC are a big step up from the Brazilian regional circuit. She needs to figure things out. Enjoy the video!
