Here's the match video of Io Shirai vs Bianca Belair from this week's episode of NXT. NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler is on commentary. The purpose of this match is to set up a title match on NXT Takeover New York. But the match was good enough to make me want to see these two in an extended program. Of course Bianca is bigger and freakishly strong. But Io sells her offense and then fires up her offense with first a 619 and then a springboard dropkick. She almost fell doing that one. The end comes when Bianca gets her knees up to foil Io's moonsault. And then Shayna comes down to the ring and drops Io to the floor. Then she puts Bianca to sleep with the Kurufida Clutch. Kairi Sane comes to the ring but it's nap time for her too. Io tosses Shayna out of the ring. But she makes the mistake of checking on Kairi and Shayna puts her to sleep too. Of course as you will see in the post match interview, the unintended consequences are that Shayna will have to defend her title against all three in a four way match at NXT Takeover New York.
