JEWELS Lightweight Champ Ayaka Hamasaki added to July 28 Invicta show

Ayaka Hamasaki
Invicta FC has added a fourteenth match to their July 28 show in Kansas City. JEWELS Lightweight Champion Ayaka Hamasaki will fight outside Japan for the first time. She will face Austrian fighter Jasminka Cive. She is fighting outside of Europe for the first time. Both fighters are undefeated. Ayaka is 7-0 and Jasminka is 5-0. But if you look behind the records, Ayaka has fought a much higher level of competition. Of course she was trained by Megumi Fujii at AACC. She has just come off an impressive win over the legendary Yuka Tsuji and also has wins over kickboxers Ham Seo Hee and MIZUKI. Jasminka trains at Ettl Bros. Not only has she never fought anyone with a winning record but none of her opponents have ever won a fight. So the level of competition is not even close. Halfway decent European fighters tend to get protected heavily but this is ridiculous. When the competition level is that low, who knows if she's good. Jasminka normally fights at 120lbs so she will have to cut to 115. I don't know if she's ever done that. I think Ayaka fighting in the US is great. But booking an unproven fighter against someone as accomplished as Ayaka is lame and insulting. It assumes that no one looks past the records.
