It's been rumoured for about six weeks that EliteXC will match up newly signed Sarah Kaufman (pictured) against Kaitlin Young. The only question was the date. EliteXC has now announced the card for the Nov. 8 show in Reno and that match is on the card. The fight will be at 135lbs. This show will be on Showtime in the US and I'm pretty sure it will be on The Fight Network in Canada. It's a little confusing and stupid. Usually EliteXC shows are on TFN and ShoXC aren't. It doesn't make any sense to me either. Sarah Kaufman is from Victoria, BC and has a 7-0 record with 6 TKOs. Her last win was over Molly Helsel at the Mar. 29 Hardcore Championship Fighting show in Gatineau, PQ. HCF has since closed and this will be Sarah's first fight outside Canada. Kaitlin Young is from Minnesota and has a 4-2 record. She's on a two fight losing streak and her most recent loss was to Gina Carano on the May 31 EliteXC show. But she did win last year's Hook 'N' Shoot tournament. Both are standup fighters and Sarah has demonstrated tremendous power in her victories. She is unknown in the US so she could certainly open some eyes with this fight. Of course I'm going to favour my fellow Canadian but as usual I just want to see a good top quality fight that shows what these women are capable of.
