This afternoon Sara McMann posted on Instagram that she is out of her match against Nicco Montano on UFC on ESPN+ 13 July 13 at Golden1 Center in Sacramento. Shortly after Damon Martin of MMA Junkie reported that Julianna Pena will step in. Like Sara, Julianna is returning from pregnancy. I heard a couple of weeks ago that she was ready to return. Though Julianna now lives in Chicago, she still returns to her home town of Spokane to train at Sikjitsu. The last time we saw Julianna she lost to Valentina Shevchenko Jan. 2017. So she's had a long layoff. Who knows what she will be like. Nicco has also had a layoff of over a year because of injury. And this is her first fight at Bantamweight. So there is plenty of uncertainty in this fight. In other news, after Liz Carmouche was pulled from UFC San Antonio for a Flyweight title match, Jennifer Maia will replace her and face Roxanne Modafferi. Of course Jennifer is a former Invicta champ with a 1-1 record in the UFC. She's a boxer with no power or ground game. So she's a points fighter and not a very effective one.Sara McMann is out of her upcoming fight due to injury. In her place, Julianna Pena is expected to face Nicco Montano at UFC Fight Night in Sacramento#UFC #UFCSacramento https://t.co/kWjlATkW3v pic.twitter.com/Cyjy4bVQKh

Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.
