Here's the match video for Andrea Lee vs Montana De La Rosa from last night's UFC show in Greenville, SC. All three women's matches on this show had fighters who need to prove they belong in the UFC. None of them did that. The losers are one thing. But all the winners fought conservatively. You know, a win is a win. In this fight, I thought that if Andrea could keep the fight standing, she could outpoint Montana. Montana needed to take Andrea to the ground but even when she did in this fight, she couldn't seem to get anywhere. So Andrea won the fight fairly easily 30-27. The interesting thing is that in her post fight interview, Andrea said she was disappointed with her performance and she needs to be more aggressive. And I think she will need to improve to be taken seriously as a Flyweight contender. I've seen her fights for the last few years and Andrea is a points fighter. She did what she had done in all her fights. But I give her props for recognizing that isn't good enough. Most fighters would repeat "A win is a win".
