Legacy Five is a modern Southern Gospel group. They have attempted to modernize that kind of music while retaining Southern Gospel elements. They are pretty successful in that market. They are from Akron, OH. Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett were members of The Cathedral Quartet. When the older members of the group retired, they gave ownership of the group to Fowler and Bennett. They changed the group name to Legacy Five. The group was four singer and Bennett on piano. A lot of guys have gone through the group. Fowler is the only original member. Bennett died in 2007 and he was replaced by Tim Parton. It makes no difference as they have had a total of three Southern Gospel chart toppers. What Kind of Man is from the 2019 album Pure Love and it topped the chart. This is music aimed at a particular audience and they can't stray too far from their audience. They can't be too contemporary. I'm not a big fan of this kind of music but it's slickly produced and the faithful certainly lap it up. Here's the video for What Kind of Man by Legacy Five.
