Kelontae Gavin was discovered on YouTube. He is now having success on the gospel charts. He's a pretty good singer. He was born Mar. 28, 1999 in Charleston, SC. He grew up singing in church. While in high school, a 2014 YouTube video of Gavin singing I Won't Complain to a cafeteria worker went viral. Gavin planned to move to Atlanta to become a minister. In 2016, producer Marquis Boone contacted Gavin about a record deal. Boone has a distribution deal with Dr. Leonard Scott's Tyscot label. Boone has produced gospel artists Casey J and C WEST among others. The 2017 single Higher was written and produced by Myron Butler. After that was a top 20 gospel hit and it was nominated for a Stellar award, the 2018 album The Higher Experience was released. No Ordinary Worship reached #5 on Billboard's Gospel chart. Boone wrote and produced No Ordinary Worship. Gavin wrote several songs on the album. The album is available on CD. A live DVD was released but it doesn't seem to be available. Gavin's latest single Hold Me Close was released earlier this year. So he's off to a pretty good start and I suggest that gospel music fans check him out.
