Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Carla Esparza vs Randa Markos added to Feb. 19 UFC show
The UFC announced today that Carla Esparza vs Randa Markos has been added to UFC Fight Night 105 Feb. 19 at the Scotiabank Center in Halifax, NS. This show will air on Fox Sports 1 in the US and TSN in Canada. The intriguing thing about this is these two don't like each other going back to TUF 20. After Randa beat Carla's best friend Felice Herrig on the show, Carla and Randa did some verbal sparring on the talk show that followed TUF. But the two have never faced each other in the cage. Of course Carla won TUF and became the first Strawweight Champion. Then she had shoulder surgery after losing the belt to current champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk. She successfully returned last May with a win over Juliana Lima. Recently she has been in the news for selling the Harley-Davidson motorcycle she won on TUF due to financial hardship brought on by her long layoff after her surgery. Carla is a four time All American wrestler and she trains at Alliance in San Diego. Randa is from Windsor, ON and she trains at Michigan Top Team in Dearborn, MI. She's a pretty good wrestler but she makes mistakes that cost her matches. And that's what happened when she lost to Cortney Casey in August. She went for one of those dreaded headlock takedowns and gave up her back. She can't do that against Carla. Of course the trash talk leading up to the fight could be interesting if Randa participates.
