AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Sara Bareilles

Artist:Sara Bareilles
Song:King Of Anything
Album:Kaleidoscope Heart

Singer songwriter Sara Bareilles had success right out of the box with her 2007 album Little Voices. Sometimes when that happens, the pressure to follow that up results in failure. But Sara did even better with her 2010 CD Kaleidoscope Heart and the hit single King Of Anything. That says a lot about her determination and she will have a long career. She was born Dec. 7, 1979 in Eureka, CA. She performed as a teen but didn't take a career in music seriously until she joined the group Awaken A Capella while she studied at UCLA. She taught herself to play piano and after graduation she started playing in Los Angeles clubs. Her 2004 self released CD Careful Confessions got her a record deal with Epic Records. She opened for Marc Broussard, Maroon 5, Paolo Nutini and James Blunt. She has been pals with Maroon 5 for years. Her 2007 CD Little Voices was produced by Eric Rosse who worked with Tori Amos and Anna Nalick. Sara wrote all the songs on the album. The single Love Song reached #4 and the album was certified Platinum. Epic also released a live CD and DVD and Sara toured with Counting Crows and Maroon 5. Work on her next CD was delayed by writer's block. But she got over it and worked with producer Neal Avron on the 2010 CD Kaleidoscope Heart. He also produced hit albums by Disturbed and Linkin Park. The first single didn't chart as high as Love Song. But it seems to be more memorable probably because it is a self described "f**k you" song. Sara went out on her first headline tour. And she became a judge on the NBC talent show The Sing Off. Her success continued with the 2013 CD The Blessed Unrest. This year Sara sang with Carole King on the Grammy Awards broadcast and sang Smile on the Emmys. She is currently on a world tour. She will be around for a long time. Here's the video for King Of Anything by Sara Bareilles.
