It was a huge hit and won several Tonys. Then there was talk about turning it into a film. Robert DeNiro's company Tribeca produced the film. Martin, Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal and Idina Menzel all reprised their roles from the original cast. Fredi Walker played Joanne in the original show. She turned down the movie because she thought she looked too old. Tracie Thoms played Joanne in the film. Seasons Of Love leads off the film and the single reached #33 on the Billboard Hot 100.
