Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Yahoo LAUNCHCAST Song Of The Day-Richard Smallwood & Vision
Artist:Richard Smallwood & Vision f/Charrisse Nelson-McIntosh
Song:Psalm 8
Album:Persuaded: Live In D.C.
Richard Smallwood is one of the most respected composers and performers in gospel music today. He takes a more choral approach so he's obviously aimed at an older audience. But I wouldn't call his music traditional gospel. He was born Nov. 30, 1948 in Atlanta. He graduated from Howard University with degrees in vocal performance and piano. He formed The Richard Smallwood Singers in Washington in 1977 and first recorded for Word's Sparrow label in 1982. He did very well in the gospel market and received several Grammy nominations. He moved to Zomba's Verity gospel label in 1995 and at that time changed the group name to Richard Smallwood & Vision. Psalm 8 is from the 2001 CD Persuaded: Live In D.C. Like a lot of gospel artists, Smallwood likes to record live CDs and DVDs. He gets a lot of respect from other artists because of his songwriting and arranging talents but his music does appeal to an older audience with his mix of traditional and contemporary elements. And his singers have been with him a long time and they're all outstanding. Charrisse Nelson-McIntosh sounds great on Psalm 8. His latest CD Journeys:Live In New York was released in Sept. 2006 and has guest appearances by The Hawkins Family, Kim Burrell, Kelly Price & Chaka Khan. And though I wouldn't recommend Richard Smallwood's music to hip hop fans, he makes beautiful music that is very inspirational. Here's Richard Smallwood & Vision featuring Charrisse Nelson-McIntosh performing Psalm 8 at Jericho City Of Praise Church from the DVD of Persuaded: Live In D.C.
