DEEP has announced today that MIKU's defense of her DEEP Womens Lightweight Championship against Misaki Takimoto will headline DEEP 37 Aug. 17 at Korakuen Hall. Takimoto earned the title shot by defeating Naoko Ohmuro at the May 24 clubDEEP show. Her record is 8-8-4. MIKU's most recent win was over Waenthong Sakrungreong on the Dec. 22 DEEP show. She's actually appeared in kickboxing and grappling exhibitions recently. Her record is 17-4. MIKU & Takimoto have faced each other three previous times. Takimoto won twice but MIKU won the most recent fight on the June 16, 2007 clubDEEP show.
DEEP also announced that they have added a womens match to DEEP 36 IMPACT July 27 at Zepp Osaka. It's a Lightweight match with Yasuko Tamada facing Fukuko Hamada. Tamada is 7-4-2 and is on a five fight winning streak. She won over Kayo Nagayasu at the June 26 Shooto show. Hamada is 4-2 and has lost her last two fights, most recently to Satoko Shinashi on that one day tournament on the Feb. 22 DEEP show.
