Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Three women's matches added to Mar. 23 UFC show
Last night the UFC announced several fights for UFC on ESPN+ 6 Mar. 23 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Three of them are women's matches so let's go over them. In a Strawweight bout, Randa Markos will face Angela Hill. Both fighters have fallen on hard times and desperately need a win. Randa is 33 years old from Windsor, ON. She trains at Michigan Top Team in Dearborn, MI. Her record is 8-6-1 and 4-5-1 in the UFC. She is mainly a wrestler but she makes way too many mistakes. Her last fight against Marina Rodriguez was a draw. She has the physical skills but she doesn't seem to make very good decisions during fights. Angela is 31 years old. She trains at Alliance in San Diego. Her record is 8-5 and 4-4 in the UFC. Angela is a kickboxer. So you know her story. She was in TUF 20, went 1-2 in the UFC, got released and won four fights in Invicta and the UFC brought her back. I don't know what the UFC was thinking but she's the same fighter. She isn't any better than her first UFC run. On paper, Randa is a better fighter. But she has to avoid mistakes. In a Strawweight bout, Maycee Barber will face JJ Aldrich. Maycee is 21 years old from Fort Collins, CO. Her record is 6-0. She was on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. She won her UFC debut over late replacement Hannah Cifers. JJ is 31 years old from Denver. She trains with Rose Namajunas. The coach is Trevor Wittman. Her record is 7-2 and 3-1 in the UFC. She was in Invicta before that. She's a midcard fighter at best. The main thing she has going for her is Wittman is a really good coach and she's smart enough to do what he tells her. Maycee is much quicker and stronger so I'm not sure Wittman can help much. And at Flyweight, Alexis Davis will face Jennifer Maia. Alexis is from Port Colborne, ON and she trains at Cesar Gracie Jiu Jitsu in Lodi, CA. Her record is 19-8 and 6-3 in the UFC. She tends to adapt to her opponent. In her loss to Katlyn Chookagian, she fell victim to Katlyn's keep away strategy. Not only did she lose but the fight was awful. Jennifer is 30 years old and she trains at Chute Boxe in Curitiba, Brazil. Jennifer is a former Invicta Flyweight champ. Her record is 15-5-1. She lost her UFC debut to Liz Carmouche. She's not a UFC caliber fighter. She's a boxer with no power or ground game. That's right. She's a dreaded points fighter that Invicta propped up so she could be sold to the UFC. But she could win this fight if she uses a keep away strategy and Alexis falls for it as she did in her loss to Katlyn.
