Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Invicta FC 34 analysis
The full card for Invicta FC 34 was announced yesterday. The show will air on UFC Fight Pass Feb. 15 at 8PM. The show is in Kansas City. The main event is for the vacant Invicta Flyweight Championship and they are having a tournament to determine the next contender for that title. The only problem is it spotlights how crappy a lot of the Flyweights are. And the other problem is Invicta has a bad habit of booking their favorite fighters instead of good fighters. So we end up with suspects instead of prospects. The title match is Pearl Gonzalez vs Vanessa Porto. Of course Pearl was 0-2 in the UFC as a Strawweight. Since then she is 3-0 in Invicta as a Flyweight. She would not be the first ex-UFC fighter to be propped up by Invicta against tomato cans. No one is fooled by this. Vanessa is not a tomato can. But she's not that good either. And she has come up short in title matches before. It's the same old same old from Invicta. The first Flyweight tournament match is Milana Dudieva vs Marina Rodriguez. Of course Milana is another ex-UFC fighter. And she's 1-2 since returning to Invicta. She is awful. Marina isn't much better. She is 33 years old from Mexico with a 2-1 Invicta record. The other tournament match is DeAnna Bennett vs Miranda Maverick. DeAnna is another awful fighter who is an Invicta favorite. Miranda looks a little better. She is 21 years old from Springfield, MO. She is 4-1. She looked pretty good in her last fight. They also have an alternate match in case one of the winners gets injured. It is Tracy Cortez vs Erin Blanchfield. Tracy is 25 years old from Scottsdale, AZ. She is 4-1 and 1-1 in Invicta. Erin is 19 years old. She won the Eddie Bravo Invitational last year. She's 3-0 but I haven't been impressed with her. On to the rest of the card. In a Featherweight bout, Faith McMah will face Helena Kolesnyk. Both are terrible. Faith is from New Zealand. She used to be Faith Van Duin. She's 1-2 in Invicta. Helena is so bad I don't know why they keep bringing her back. Even Julie Kedzie has commented about her on the broadcast and she doesn't usually do that. She's 0-2 in Invicta. In a Featherweight bout, Victoria Leonardo will face Jamie Milanowski. Victoria lost her Sept. Invicta debut to Miranda Maverick. Jamie is 27 years old from Huntsville, AL. Her record is 2-2. This is her Invicta debut. Her losses are to Nicco Montano and Cheri Muraski. In a Featherweight bout, Courtney King will face Holli Salazar. Courtney is from Fort Collins, CO. She is 1-1 and she lost her Invicta debut. Holli is 27 years old from Pueblo, CO. She's 1-0-1. Her Invicta debut was a draw. They aren't having much luck finding decent Featherweights. The opener is at Bantamweight. Caitlin Sammons will face Christina Ricker. Caitlin is 27 years old from Orlando, FL. She has a 7-1 amateur record. This is her pro debut. Christina is 28 years old from Knoxville, TN. Her record is 1-1. This is her Invicta debut. There are too many bad fighters at the top of the card. But I will be watching.
