Song:Best Shot
Album:Mercury Lane
With the success of Kane Brown, it looks like Nashville may look at more black country singers. Jimmie Allen could ride on Brown's coattails to his own success. His debut single Best Shot did well. We'll see how he develops. He was born June 18, 1986 in Milton, DE. He moved to Nashville in 2007. After a failed audition for America's Got Talent, Allen signed a publishing deal with Wide Open Music owned by singer songwriter Ash Bowers. Bowers recorded for the Broken Bow Records label Stoney Creek. A record company talent showcase led to Allen signing with Stoney Creek. Bowers produced Allen's debut album Mercury Lane. Best Shot reached #5 on the Country Singles chart. And it topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart for two weeks. That run was ended by Kane Brown. Allen co-wrote most of the songs on Mercury Lane. He co-wrote Best Shot with Josh London and JP Williams. It's the first hit single for all three guys. In February Allen is going in tour opening for Kane Brown. We'll see if he can break out of Brown's shadow and make his own way. Here's the video for Best Shot by Jimmie Allen.
