AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Mayday Parade

Artist:Mayday Parade
Song:Miserable At Best
Album:A Lesson In Romantics: Anniversary Edition

The 2007 album A Lesson In Romantics is the best selling album by Mayday Parade. They are a successful touring band but they have never had a hit single. Mayday Parade are from Tallahassee, FL. They formed in 2005. It was a merger of two bands who rehearsed in the same building. Jason Lancaster and Derek Sanders shared lead vocals. Lancaster played guitar and Sanders played piano. Other members were Alex Garcia on lead guitar, Brooks Betts on rhythm guitar, Jeremy Lenzo on bass and Jake Bundrick on drums. They released an EP in 2006 and toured. They signed with Fearless Records with Atlantic distribution. While recording the 2007 album A Lesson In Romantics, Lancaster left over songwriting credit. All of Mayday Parade's songs were credited to the band and I assume the royalties were equally divided. Obviously Lancaster wanted more money. He was never replaced. Lancaster recorded two albums with the band Go Radio and he has released two solo albums. A Lesson In Romantics was released and the band toured to support it. The album was eventually certified Gold and it is still their best selling album to date. It was rereleased in 2017 with bonus tracks that are previously unreleased demos. Since then Mayday Parade has released five albums. For their 2018 CD Sunnyland they moved to Rise Records. They are currently on tour and they are going to Europe in February. They are recommended to those whom enjoy the emo style of pop music. Here's the video for Miserable At Best by Mayday Parade.
