Globo in Brazil reported today that Syuri Kondo vs Poliana Botelho has been added to UFC Fight Night 129 May 19 at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. Syuri confirmed this on her Twitter. Of course Syuri is a pro wrestler and former kickboxing champ from Japan. She just turned 29. Her record is 6-0 and she won her UFC debut over Chan Mi Jeon by split decision on the Sept. Japan show. Syuri is a points fighter because she has no punching power. But she is aggressive especially in the clinch. And she is disciplined. She doesn't try to do too much. Poliana is 29 years old. She trains at Nova Uniao in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her record is 6-1. she won her UFC debut over Pearl Gonzalez in Oct. The UFC had high hopes for Pearl but she looked terrible in her two fights and she was released and she's now fighting for Invicta. This fight is at Strawweight but Poliana has fought at Flyweight for most of her career. At 5'8", she's big for a Strawweight. Both are strikers so I would expect a kickboxing match. Poliana's size advantage should give her an edge. But Syuri is very well coached and I expect Vos will have a specific strategy to deal with Poliana's size advantage.Next much!!UFC✨

Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.
