Artist:The All-American Rejects
Song:Dirty Little Secret
Album:Move Along
The All-American Rejects scored three top ten hits including Dirty Little Secret in 2005. They faded enough that they lost their major label record deal and they plan to release new music themselves. The All-American Rejects are from Stillwater, OK. Guitarist Nick Wheeler was performing in a band and Tyson Ritter offered to play bass. So they started playing together and they formed the band with guitarist Mike Kennerty and drummer Tim Campbell. Campbell was soon replaced by Chris Gaylor and that was the band that signed with DreamWorks Records. DreamWorks re-released their 2002 album which was released independently. They toured to support it and the album did very well. Then they moved to Interscope for the 2005 album Move Along. The album was certified 2XPlatinum and Dirty Little Secret reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100. It Ends Tonight was also a top ten hit. The 2008 single Gives You Hell reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. That would turn out to be their biggest hit. But the 2008 album When The World Goes Down was certified Gold. So they are starting to fade. They had problems on tour. Ritter had a tumor removed from his knee and he was drinking heavily after a failed relationship. When the 2012 album Kids In The Street didn't sell, The All-American Rejects left Interscope after releasing an EP last year. They are planning to release their next album on their own label. Move Along is available as a budget CD. Here's the video for Dirty Little Secret by The All-American Rejects.
