Artist:Seth Ennis
Song:Woke Up in Nashville
EP:Mabelle
Singer songwriter Seth Ennis charted with his 2016 debut single Woke Up in Nashville. Then he seemed to fall off the face of the earth. So what happened? Stay tuned. He was born Nov. 30, 1992 in Dothan, AL. He was in a military family so they moved a lot. He calls Valdosta, GA home. He learned to play piano as a child and as a teen he was writing songs. He moved to Nashville and signed with Arista Nashville in 2016. Woke Up in Nashville was his debut single. It reached #45 on the Country Singles chart. The producer was Corey Crowder who also produces Chris Young. Arista released the EP Mabelle which is available as a digital download. After a couple more singles, Arista dropped Ennis and that was the end of it. There was never an album. In a 2021 interview with People, Ennis doesn't seem to know why Arista dropped him. He was on tour at the time. But I'll take a guess that when subsequent singles didn't chart, Arista decided that Woke Up in Nashville was a fluke. It certainly doesn't sound like a typical country song. Ennis continued to write songs for Lauren Alaina and Dylan Scott among others. But he wasn't sure if he wanted to continue as a performer. His manager showed him that listeners were still streaming his music though he hadn't released anything for years. So Ennis has released a couple of singles on his own label. It remains to be seen where things go from there. Here's the video for Woke Up in Nashville by Seth Ennis.
