Primus bassist Les Claypool was looking for something to do when Primus wasn't on tour. Of course Sean Lennon is the son of John Lennon. His band The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger toured with Primus in 2015. After the two discussed the possibility of recording together, they jammed on stage. Claypool invited Lennon to his house. They wrote and recorded ten songs and the Claypool Lennon Delerium was born. They signed with Dave Matthews' ATO label. The album Monolith of Phobos was released in 2016. And they went on tour to support it. Everything went great. That's pretty good for a part time band. Both guys sing. On this song Ohmerica, Lennon sure sounds like his dad. They write and produce all the music. Other musicians are Mark "Money Mark" Nishita of The Beastie Boys on keyboards and Paulo Baldi of CAKE on drums. I would describe their music as neo psychedelia. On the 2019 album South of Reality, Claypool and Lennon play all the instruments. They hire musicians for touring. I am sure we will see new music from Claypool Lennon Delerium when Primus takes a break. They have done well so far.
