Ami I Wrong was a top five hit in 2014 for Nico & Vinz. The song was a hit in Europe and then it crossed the pond. Nico Sereba is from Oslo, Norway. Vincent Dery was born in Ghana but he lives in Oslo. Both admire the music of Africa. At first they called themselves Envy. A 2010 mixtape got them a deal with Universal in Norway. Am I Wrong first appeared on the 2011 Envy CD The Magic Soup and the Bittersweet Faces. It did well enough to attract Warner Bros. in the US. Warners requested a name change so they would avoid confusion with other groups. Am I Wrong was re-released under the name Nico & Vinz. The record was very successful in Europe. It topped the charts in Noway and England and then it reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was followed by the album Black Star Elephant. The album was produced by Norwegian producer William "Will IDAP" Larsen who produced H.O.L.Y. by Florida Georgia Line. Nico & Vinz appeared on Dancing With The Stars. since then they have released a couple of EPs and singles. They announced in April they are working on a new album for 2020 release.
