AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Building 429

Artist:Building 429
Song:Unashamed
Album:Unashamed

Building 429 is a popular CCM band. I would describe them as a Praise & Worship (P&W) rock band. So they have a soft edge. They are from Fayetteville, NC led by singer songwriter Jason Roy. He is the only original member still in the band. Building 429 was formed in 1999 by Roy and bassist Scotty Beshears from the ashes of previous bands. They added drummer Christian Fuhrer and Building 429 was born. The name comes from scripture and a game Roy and his wife played with a church youth group. They released a CD and toured. They also added guitarist Paul Bowden. They released another album and an EP and Fuhrer was replaced by Michael Anderson. A tour with the popular CCM group Sonicflood got them a deal with Word Records. They released an EP in 2004 and the single Glory Defined topped the CCM chart. They toured to support the 2004 album The Space In Between Us. Building 429 was nominated for four Dove awards and they won New Artist of the Year. Jesse Garcia was added on guitar and keyboards so Roy could concentrate on singing. Most of Building 429's success is based on a heavy tour schedule. I'm sure that caused Beshears to leave replaced by Aaron Branch. Building 429 left Word for INO in 2007. After one album, INO was sold and Building 429 signed with Sony's Essential label. They continue to have success in the CCM market. The album Unashamed was released in 2015. Roy wrote and produced the single Unashamed with producer Casey Brown who previously worked with Chris Tomlin. Their latest CD Live The Journey was released in 2018. And as I said, Building 429 is always touring. They sure have plenty of stamina. Here's the video for Unashamed by Building 429.
