AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Maren Morris

Artist:Maren Morris
Song:My Church
Album:Hero

Maren Morris had success as a songwriter before she broke through with her 2016 major label debut album Hero and the single My Church. She was born Apr. 10, 1990 in Arlington, TX. Her parents own a hair salon. Her dad bought her a guitar when she was 12. She started writing as a teen. Maren released an album on her own label in 2005. Her 2007 CD All That It Takes was released on the indie label Smith Entertainment. After graduating from the University of North Texas, Maren released the 2011 CD Live Wire on her own label. Then she moved to Nashville. Several of her songs appeared on the TV series Nashville. Her songs were recorded by Tim McGraw and Kelly Clarkson. After her 2015 EP Maren Morris scored 2.5M streams on Spotify, record companies came calling and Maren signed with Columbia Nashville. They re-released the EP and My Church reached #5 on the Country Singles chart. The album Hero was released in 2016 and it was certified Platinum. Maren wrote and produced the album with Michael Busbee AKA busbee. Maren won several awards including a Grammy for Best Solo Country Performance. Maren was guest vocalist on Zedd's 2018 top five pop hit The Middle. The album Girl was released Mar. 2019. The singles Girl and The Bones were top ten country hits. Sadly her producer busbee died of brain cancer on Sept. 29, 2019 at age 43. So she has to find a new producer. Meanwhile Maren formed The Highwomen with Brandi Carlile. They released an album Sept. 2019. And Maren and husband Ryan Hurd are expecting their first child Mar. 2020. So she's very busy and I expect her to have a long music career. Here's the video for My Church by Maren Morris.
