Big Bad Blog Video Theater-Ten woman tag team match

Here's the match video from last night's Smackdown. It was a ten woman tag team match to set up this Sunday's Money In The Bank (MITB) show. The show began with a "Summit" hosted by Smackdown GM Paige. It was similar to what they did on RAW. Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Naomi and Lana bickering about what will happen at MITB. The Iiconics, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose come out and Paige turns it into an eight women tag team match. Then Paige encounters Asuka backstage. Asuka wants Carmella tonight. Paige says she can't do that but she can add them to the tag match. So now it's a ten woman tag team match. The match is OK for what it is. It's supposed to serve the storyline. Becky is getting heat for an extended time. And then Charlotte comes in and misses a moonsault on Peyton Royce. Asuka finally gets the tag and that's when the match breaks down. Asuka applies the Asuka Lock on Mandy Rose. But that's broken up. Becky is rammed into the barricade. Charlotte hits a moonsault to the floor on the Iiconics. In the ring, Carmella hits a superkick on Asuka but Lana breaks up the pin. Asuka transitions into the Asuka Lock and Carmella taps. See, I told you the match served the storyline. The segment ends with Asuka surrounded and the other girls staring at the MITB briefcase. Corey Graves says if Asuka wins on Sunday, she will have a target on her back. So your question is will she win the title. One would think so but there are ways for that to not happen. On Monday, Mike Johnson of PW Insider reported that James Ellsworth could return to the WWE on Sunday. Of course everyone remembers how he helped Carmella get the briefcase last year. There was a rumor killer that Ellsworth is supposed to be in China of all places on Sunday. But Mike doesn't make stuff up and I'm sure the WWE could get Ellsworth out of that show if they wanted. Obviously they would want any appearance by Ellsworth to be a surprise. Of course he would try to help Carmella. There are two ways Ellsworth could be used and it doesn't necessarily mean Carmella keeps the title. I'll talk about this and the other women's matches when I preview Money In The Bank on my podcast on Saturday. Until then, enjoy the video!
