AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Tara Kemp

Artist:Tara Kemp
Song:Hold You Tight
Album:Women Of Dance: Club Mix Vol. 1

Hold You Tight was one of two top ten hits in 1991 for Tara Kemp. She only recorded one album and disappeared. Sometimes I have to be a detective. She was born May 11, 1964 in Livermore, CA. She sang backup vocals on the 1990 song Heat Of Your Touch by Valery. I don't know anything about Valery. She only recorded one single. But Tara recorded Hold You Tight with the same producers; Tuhin Roy, Jake Smith and William Hammond on Atlantic's Big Beat label. The single got her a deal with Irving Azoff's Giant Records with Warner distribution. Roy and Smith wrote and produced most of the 1991 album Tara Kemp. Hold You Tight reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Piece of My Heart reached #7. And that was it. She never recorded another album. So what happened? It looks like Roy and Smith started their own label Nerve Records and took Tara with them. She released the 1994 single Come Correct and Nerve only released three singles and went out of business. Tara went into the interior design business. She still does that. Hold You Tight is available on this various artists budget CD. Her 2016 single Paris In Spring featuring D'Wayne Wiggins of Tony! Toni! Tone! was her first release since 1994. And she's on Twitter and Facebook. Detective work is done! Here's the video for Hold You Tight by Tara Kemp.
