So you may have already heard that STARDOM's Io Shirai and her wrestler boyfriend NOSAWA were arrested at Narita Airport for possession of marijuana. The two were returning from Mexico. The contraband was hidden in a picture frame holding a portrait of NOSAWA. NOSAWA has told Sportsnavi and Nikkan Sports that the portrait was a gift from a fan and he didn't know there was anything in it. Meanwhile, he was pulled from this Sunday's New Japan show. STARDOM owner Rossy Ogawa announced that Io is off this Sunday's Sapporo show. It remains to be seen how long she will remain on the sidelines. It's too bad because Io was doing really well there. Though here in North America, we don't take possession of marijuana too seriously, it's still a big deal in Japan and wrestlers have been blackballed in the past for smoking weed. I will be watching this story closely so stay tuned for further developments.
