Once again it is time for Big Bad Blog Video Theatre scouring the globe for the best women's MMA fights. I've got a special treat for you this time. It's Rin Nakai vs Megumi Yabushita from the June 16 VALKYRIE show. I check my blog stats daily and there's no question that since the beginning of this year when she unveiled her new look, Rin Nakai is the most popular fighter that appears regularly on this blog. There are others of course but Rin's physique attracts a following larger than women's MMA. And I know that because I know where the pageviews come from. What can I say? She's a cute little girl with guns and legs like tree trunks. And in this match, she's schooling a legend. Megumi obviously can't handle Rin's power. And her centre of gravity makes her very hard to take down. But I was very impressed that the increased muscle mass and weight gain hasn't affected her quickness. She wasn't quite able to finish Megumi but Rin dominated the match for the easy win. You'll notice that in the first round, the ref stopped the match and tok a point away from Rin for grabbing the cage. The only disappointment is that we didn't get to see Rin's trademark post match gymnastics. I don't know if that was part of Samurai TV's coverage but I would like to point out to the New Mexico MMA folks who posted the video that Youtube has recently raised their video length limit from 10 to 15 minutes. After watching this match, it's pretty clear that at 23 years of age, Rin Nakai is one of the brightest young stars in women's MMA. Enjoy!
Pretty good she just needs to stop muscling it so much to get a pin. She already has good cardio and will be very good in a short amount of time.
