AWA severs relationship with First On Stage

There are some very strange developments going on at ZERO-ONE MAX & CHICK FIGHTS SUN parent company First On Stage. AWA President Dale Gagne announced on the AWA website that they have severed their relationship with First On Stage effective immediately. The reason given is that FOS refuses to change their business methods and become a real member of the AWA. This affects ZERO-ONE MAX immediately. There was no mention of CHICK FIGHTS SUN but I will talk about how that may be solved this weekend. I guess the problem was that FOS was only interested in using the AWA name, logo and legacy and weren't really interested in a business relationship with Dale Gagne. Well, DUH! I could have told them that a long time ago. The result of this was a report in the Tokyo Shinbun newspaper that FOS president Nakamura was considering quitting. I understand partner Shinjiro Otani convinced him to stay.

FOS president Nakamura's response on the ZERO-ONE MAX blog is that FOS plans to start a new relationship with the NWA. They have begun with a tag team belt and that will be dealt with in January. They also announced plans to divide the Z-1 roster into two armies and have a draft. Regarding CHICK FIGHTS SUN, this is the week that the Hawaii Championship Wrestling crew comes to Japan to work some shows. Then everyone goes to Hawaii for a show on Saturday. Saki Maemura will defend the AWA World Womens Championship against Tracy Taylor. So if Tracy wins the AWA title, I guess that's it. And who is the NWA Womens Champion? That would be one Amazing Kong. That would work. Also, Nakamura has been whining about the proposed AJW revival saying it may not be legal. He knows Nanae Takahashi is loyal to the Matsunagas and will want to work any AJW revival shows. We'll see how he handles that.
