Cheerleader Melissa added to Queen's Cup Tournament

Pro Wrestling WORLD-1 & All Pro Wrestling announced that popular California indy wrestler Cheerleader Melissa has been added to the WORLD-1's Queen's Cup Tournament on Jan. 7 at Pottstown, PA. Melissa is the daughter of wrestler Doug Anderson and is considered one of the top female workers in the US today. She won the recent Chick Fight 5 tournament at APW in California and is also a regular on the very popular SHIMMER promotion. The accompanying picture shows Melissa tying Daizee Haze in knots at last month's SHIMMER taping.

Other announced participants in the Queen's Cup Tournament are Alison Danger, Alere Little Feather, Nikki Roxx, Cindy Rogers & Amber O'Neal. The winner of this tournament will get a shot at Amazing Kong's WORLD-1 Womens Title and travel to Tokyo for the Jan. 14 Pro Wrestling SUN show to challenge Nanae Takahashi for the AWA World Womens Championship. Joshi fans may recall when Melissa spent three months in the now defunct ARSION promotion in 2002 training with Mariko Yoshida. Her time in Japan was a turning point in Melissa's wrestling career as she learned a lot of techniques that she uses today. A Melissa vs Nanae Takahashi match has potential to be good because Melissa is a credible contender. Maybe SUN president Nakamura learned something from the Afrika 55 experiment. Get good gaijin wrestlers first. There are two more wrestlers to be named to this tournament. Stay tuned.
