Here's the match video of Katlyn Chookagian vs Cynthia Calvillo from last night's UFC show. This fight is at Flyweight. Katlyn is a former title contender seemingly headed to retirement. She trains with Mark Henry and uses this keepaway strategy. The way to beat her is to pressure her as Jessica Andrade did in her last fight. Cynthia can get closer to a title shot if she can win this fight. She has the ability to close the distance and pressure Katlyn. But she chose not to do that and that's why she lost the fight. Her coach Jimmy Gifford told her to close the distance. She didn't listen to him and Katlyn won the fight 30-27. I dunno why Cynthia did that. Maybe my podcast co-host Schwan Humes has the answers.
