Michael Hardy had success as a songwriter before scoring a top twenty country hit in 2020 with One Beer. He calls himself HARDY. He was born Sept. 13, 1990 in Philadelphia, MS. After graduating from high school, Hardy moved to Nashville to get into the music business. He earned a degree in songwriting from Middle Tennessee State University. A 2013 EP and some songs he posted on Youtube got the attention of veteran songwriter Dennis Matkosky who signed him to a publishing deal. Hardy's first hit was Morgan Wallen's Up Down. He also co-wrote Simple and Talk You Out of It for Florida Georgia Line and songs for Blake Shelton. He signed with Big Loud Records and label co-owner and producer Joey Moi. He' a Canadian who has been very successful in Nashville in recent years. A Rock is Hardy's second album. It was released in Sept. 2020. One Beer reached #3 on the Country Singles chart and #33 on the Billboard Hot 100. Hardy wrote all the songs on the album with co-writers. One Beer was co-written by veteran songwriter Hilary Lindsey and newcomer Jake Mitchell. Both wrote other songs on the album. Special guests are American Idol winner Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson who started out on Youtube and now records for Warner Music. It remains to be seen if Hardy has longevity as a recording artist.
