Here's the match video of Io Shirai vs Xia Brookside from the first round of the Mae Young Classic. Io is an 11 year pro wrestling veteran. She has been the ace of Stardom for several years. Going in, she's the favorite to win the tournament. Xia is 19 years old. She is the daughter of WWE Performance Center trainer Robbie Brookside. I have seen these two wrestle each other in Stardom. The match is basically a squash which is what it should be. The most notable thing about Io is how smooth she is. She also climbs to the top rope quicker than anyone. Io wins with her trademark moonsault. Xia has potential but she needs to put on some muscle. That's what I thought when I saw her a few months ago. Io looked great and I guess that's the main thing.
