Erika Kamimura, Denise Mellor |
The weigh in for tomorrow's WBC Muay Thai International Light Flyweight Championship match between champ Denise Mellor and challenger Erika Kamimura was held in public today. It's half of the double main event tomorrow at Korakuen Hall. Erika weighed in at 48.95kg and as you can see in the pic, she looks fantastic. Denise weighed in at 47.25kg. When asked about the weight difference, Denise said it doesn't concern her. A big meal should take care of it. Her coach is in Japan with her and she's right where she needs to be. She again said she has watched Erika on video and is very impressed. Denise expects an exciting match. The rules in this match allow elbows which usually aren't allowed in Japan. Erika says that doesn't concern her. Her Dec. 30 Sengoku match allowed elbows and she still won by TKO. Erika thinks she is in better shape for this match than in previous matches. She says she did work that even bodybuilders don't do. Erika says she is prepared for anything but wants to finish the match quickly. We shall see. It could be quite a milestone for the 18 year old World's Strongest High School Student Erika Kamimura.
