AccuRadio Song Of The Day-LeAnn Rimes

Artist:LeAnn Rimes
Song:How Do I Live
Album:Greatest Hits

LeAnn Rimes burst upon the country music scene in 1997 as a 13 year old second coming of Patsy Cline. But she soon crossed over to the pop charts and somewhat alienated the country music fanbase. How Do I Live is her biggest hit to date. She was born Aug. 28, 1982 in Jackson, MS and grew up in Garland, TX. She started singing at a very early age and at age 8 was a one week champion of Star Search. Her father Wilbur Rimes managed her and she recorded three albums independently from 1992-96. Dallas country music DJ Bill Mack discovered her and wanted her to record a song he wrote called Blue which he claimed to had written for Patsy Cline but she died before she could record it. So the story was he had it all these years and it had never been recorded. It wasn't true but it's a good story. The end result is LeAnn signed with Curb Records. Blue reached #10 on the Country Singles chart and the CD Blue reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 200 and was certified 6XPlatinum. She was the youngest country artist to chart since Tanya Tucker in the 70s. Veteran songwriter Diane Warren wrote How Do I Live for LeAnn to sing on the soundtrack of the 1997 film Conair. The producers of the film did not like her version and asked her to redo it. They thought she sounded too young. When LeAnn and her dad and producer refused, the producers of Conair had Trisha Yearwood record the song and used it in the film. Both versions charted but LeAnn's version crossed over and reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It's her biggest hit to date. She continued to have success mostly as a pop singer until she sued her dad and then Curb Records in 2000. She settled with her dad and signed a new contract with Curb in 2001. You can get all her hits on this comp. LeAnn still records for Curb but she hasn't been as successful as she was in the 90s. She just released a new CD Lady and Gentleman Sept. 27, 2011. LeAnn Rimes is married to actor Eddie Cibrian. Here's the video for How Do I Live by LeAnn Rimes. The audio on the Youtube version is out of sync.
