AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Tyler Hubbard

Artist:Tyler Hubbard

Song:5 Foot 9

Album:Tyler Hubbard

Tyler Hubbard is one half of the very popular country duo Florida Georgia Line. Since going on hiatus in 2021, Hubbard has had success as a solo act. He was born Jan. 31, 1987 in Monroe, GA. As a child, he played sports and attended church several times a week. As a teen, he led the worship service in church and that's when he got interested in music. After graduating from high school, Hubbard attended Belmont University in Nashville and that's when he met Brian Kelley and they formed Florida Georgia Line. They had a lot of success until Kelley wanted to record solo in 2021 and they decided to go on hiatus. Hubbard signed with EMI Nashville and 5 Foot 9 was his debut single. It reached #5 on the Country Singles chart. Then he released the 2023 album Tyler Hubbard and it was certified Gold. Hubbard produced the album with Jordan Schmidt who had previously produced Florida Georgia Line. Hubbard wrote all the songs with co-writers. He wrote 5 Foot 9 with Jaren Johnston of The Cadillac Three and Chase McGill. McGill has written hits for Morgan Wallen. The song was originally intended for Florida Georgia Line. Hubbard wrote the song for his wife Hayley who is 5'10". Hubbard also wrote songs with Keith Urban, Russell Dickerson, Thomas Rhett, his father Rhett Akins, Bebe Rexha and Trevor Rosen and Brad Tursi of Old Dominion. Hubbard continued his success with the 2024 album Strong. It hasn't done as well but it's done OK. Hubbard again wrote and produced with Schmidt. Will Florida Georgia line reunite? Kelley has said that he is open to it. But Hubbard has said that he prefers being solo and isn't interested. Of course that could change if someone throws enough money at them. Here's the video for 5 Foot 9 by Tyler Hubbard.
