Artist:Lifehouse
Song:You and Me
Album:Greatest hits
The 2005 single You and Me was one of two top five hits for the band Lifehouse. They have been on hiatus since 2021. They were called Blyss when they were formed in Los Angeles in 1995 by lead singer and songwriter Jason Wade. He formed the band with his next door neighbor bassist Sergio Andrade. They started playing local high schools and producer Ron Aniello introduced Wade to singer songwriter Jude Cole. Cole produced all of Lifehouse's albums. He got them a record deal at Dreamworks Records and they financed a demo that was released as the 1999 EP Diff's Lucky Day. Wade rerecorded and remixed all the demos and released it as the 2000 album No Name Face. He also changed the band name to Lifehouse After the album was recorded, Wade and bassist Sergio Andrade remained from the original band. Rick Woolstenhulme was the new drummer. Wade hired musicians for touring. The single Hanging by a Thread reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Despite never topping the chart, Hanging by a Thread was still named by Billboard as 2001's biggest hit. The album was certified 2XPlatinum. The 2002 album Stanley Climbfall sold about half what the first album sold. Then Dreamworks closed and Lifehouse was moved to Geffen Records for the 2005 album Lifehouse. Andrade was replaced by Bryce Soderberg. The single You and Me reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was on the soundtrack for the TV series Smallville. It didn't seem to help album sales. Lifehouse recorded three more albums for Geffen. This comp was released in 2017. Lifehouse released the 2018 album Out of the Wasteland on ironworks owned by Jude Cole and actor Kiefer Sutherland. Lifehouse went on hiatus in 2021. Wade has formed a new band OZWALD. He seems to be concentrating on that and Lifehouse is not likely to return. Here's the video for You and Me by Lifehouse.
