William "DJ Snake" Grigahcine is a French producer who has had chart success with a couple of his own albums. Let Me Love You was a top five hit in 2016. He was born June 13, 1986 in Paris, France. He started out as a graffiti artist and his ability to evade the police earned him the nickname Snake. He started DJing as a teen and then he got into remixing and producing. His first success as a producer was with the 2009 Pitbull single Shut It Down. Then he got a Grammy nomination as one of the producers om the 2011 Lady Gaga album Born This Way. He co-produced the song Government Hooker. Grigahcine continued to do remixes. He scored one of his three big hits with the 2013 single Turn Down For What featuring rapper Lil Jon. It reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. That was on Columbia but Grigahcine subsequently signed with Interscope. The 2015 single Lean On with Major Lazer and featuring the Swedish singer MO reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Grigahcine released his debut album Encore Aug. 2016. Of course he doesn't sing so there's a guest singer on every track. Let Me Love You was the third single and it reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It's probably Grigahcine's biggest hit to date because of Justin Bieber. Encore was certified Platinum. His 2019 album Carte Blanche featured the single Taki Taki featuring Selena Gomez. It reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. That album hasn't been as successful as Encore. But Grigahcine has started his own label Premiere Classe where he plans to build his own roster of artists. He has also formed Pardon My French with DJs Tchami, Mercer and Malaa. They are touring China next week.
