AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Eve 6

Artist:Eve 6
Song:Here's To The Night
Album:Horrorscope

Eve 6 had success with their first two CDs and the hit singles Inside Out in 1998 and Here's To The Night in 2001. But by 2004, their record company dropped them and the band split up. They have since reformed and are back to recording and touring. Eve 6 is from the Los Angeles suburb of La Crescenta, CA. Lead singer and bassist Max Collins, guitarist Jon Siebels and drummer Nick Meyers went to high school together and formed a band in 1995. At first they were called Yakoo and then Eleventeen. RCA Records spotted them at a local club and signed them. They recorded an EP that was never released and then replaced Meyers with Tony Fagenson. Fagenson is the son of producer Don Was. He came up with the name Eve 6 which is an X Files reference. They released their debut CD Eve 6 in 1998. The single Inside Out topped the Modern Rock chart and reached #28 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was certified Platinum. Horrorscope was released in 2000. Here's To The Night reached #30 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was very popular at proms and high school graduation ceremonies. So the band was doing well. But their 2003 CD It's All In Your Head did not sell as well as the first two CDs and RCA dropped them in 2004. Then Eve 6 split up. Sony has not released an Eve 6 comp but Horrorscope is available as a budget CD. Siebels joined the band Monsters Are Waiting. Collins and Fagenson continued to work together as The Sugi Tap. They decided to revive Eve 6 in 2007 with guitarist Matt Blair. Siebels replaced Blair in 2010. Eve 6 signed with Fearless Records and released the CD Speak In Code in 2012. They are currently touring. They should do OK but I don't see them being as successful as they were 15 years ago. Here's the video for Here's To The Night by Eve 6.
