Erin Toughill finds an opponent for Jan. 30 FCF show

In addition to this tournament that FCF is running on Jan. 30 in Oklahoma, the plan is for Erin Toughill to fight on the show. Finding a suitable opponent is a different matter. Of course because Erin is under contract to Strikeforce, they have to approve any outside fights. Erin was supposed to fight Marloes Coenen in Nov. but was forced to back out due to illness and she is likely to face the winner of the Jan. 30 fight between Marloes and Cris Cyborg. So she wanted to get a fight in to get ready for that. There just aren't that many fighters in the 145lb weight class which is why Strikeforce needs to stop dicking around with the 135lb weight class. Ray Hui of Fanhouse reports today that Romy Ruyssen will be Erin's opponent. Romy is from France and frequently competes in grappling tournaments. Her pro MMA record is 1-1 and her last fight was a loss to Marloes Coenen on the Aug. 2, 2008 Ultimate Glory show in Basel, Switzerland. So she hasn't had a pro match in a while but she has done some grappling in the interim. Of course Erin's a pioneer of women's MMA. Her record is 10-2-1 and her most recent fight was a win over Emily Thompson at the May 8 PFC show in Lemoore, CA. Supposedly HDNet is considering broadcasting this show but have not decided yet.
