Taylor Wilde & Sarita are the TNA Knockouts Tag Team champs

Here's the match video from last night's TNA No Surrender PPV with Taylor Wilde & Sarita vs Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne. So we all know the circumstances surrounding Angel Williams' departure from TNA. Some fans seem to think that The Beautiful People angle will be fine. But the bottom line is that at some point Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne and now Lacey Von Erich have to produce in the ring and none of them are capable of that. When it was necessary to step up and have a quality match, Angel did that. Though this match isn't as bad as I had been told, it does illustrate the problem. It starts out OK but by the middle of the match, Velvet is clueless and Sarita is clearly getting annoyed with her. Mike Tenay points out that Taylor & Sarita are vastly more experienced than The Beautiful People. But Velvet is actually more experienced than Taylor & Sarita but nowhere near as skilled. I thought the finisher was pretty good and I'm not surprised that Sarita & Taylor are a great team with their lucha training. Of course Sarita trained in Mexico and still works for CMLL. But Taylor got her lucha training from Rob Fuego at the Squared Circle Training Centre in Toronto. I like their potential but I am concerned with some of the creative changes and the rumour that Dixie Carter only wants pretty women hired. I don't like the Lacey Von Erich signing. She can't replace Angel. Oh and ODB won the TNA Knockouts Title in that stupidity with Cody Deaner. Enjoy the video!

You couldn't be more correct on this issue, Frank. Angel Williams was the backbone of 'The Beautiful People" because she can actually wrestle. Velvet Sky can't tell the difference between a "wristlock" and a "wristwatch". I had to throw a Gorilla Monsson reference out there. Just like the WWE, hiring pretty women whom can't wrestle will catch up with the organizations. I don't care much for Lacey Von Erich. What I would like to see is Alissa Flash getting a push. It isn't like the average wresting fan doesn't know who she is.

  2. But Velvet Sky isn't an untrained model. She's fully trained and has been around for several years. She doesn't care to be good and gets hired anyway. That's a different problem.

Sky is good on the microphone. Dixie Carter ain't great. Nice match. Personally I would like to see a Hamada & Daffney tag team.

  4. Eh actually I watched this again in high quality and Sky was pretty rubbish. OBD V's Deaner was pretty rubbish too. Looks like they are going to bury the Deaner because he was showing up some of the women with his sheer intensity. ODB for one breaks character far too much. Infact Sarita and Wilde didn't look that great, maybe then need some better opposition to show off their more technical style... A natural Hulk Hogan type face would be good for the Knockouts division, their own Kyoko Inoue :-) But they make ODB the champ who's dirty dozen move is frankly revolting...

I'm not big on the Lacey Von Erich signing at all. I honestly hope the rumour of Dixie only wanting 'pretty' women hired stays as one. Aside from her lineage don't expect her to be Natalya Neidhart. She is currently as bad as Rhaka Khan.

Angelina Love's release has thrown a spanner in the works and to be honest I'm not a fan of finding a replacement so soon, if at all. At least it should have been someone like Amber O'Neal who's got the look for TBP and can work. Velvet is a weak worker who can't carry the group. Madison Rayne is a better worker than she's allowed to be in TNA. She also competes in SHIMMER as Ashley Lane and is better than Velvet.

Thankfully the Deaner crap is over and hopefully TNA will continue building a feud involving Tara and Kong.

  6. Velvet is a strong personality, but weak in the ring. She really missed Angelina in that match. Madison at least got to shine more and is capable.
As far as Lacey goes, I welcome her as a personality in TNA but hope they don't throw her in the ring right now and try and make it look like she's a legit wrestler. That spells disaster. For now, keep her soley as a personality like So Cal Val and her signing will be a positive for TNA.

  7. Based on this week's spoilers, Lacey will be a wrestler and inevitably stink the joint out.
