Anyone who has been a fan of joshi puroresu or Japanese women's MMA for any length of time knows that sexy photobooks have been a big part of the business for many years. Yesterday, JEWELS continued this tradition by releasing a Mika Nagano photobook with many of the photos taken by JEWELS matchmaker Shigeru Saeki. He started out as a photographer years ago. I saw a couple of the pics on the JEWELS blog. If you bug me enough, I may post them on Twitter. So today Mika has an autograph signing at the T-1 Travel & Ticket Agency in Tokyo. And JEWELS used the opportunity to draw lots for the first round of the 54kg ROUGH STONE tournament to be held at the Sept. 13 Shinjuku FACE show. Mika Nagano will face Rina Tomita. Nagano won over Tomita on the July 12 JEWELS show. Nagano trains at S-Keep and her record is 3-2. Tomita trains at AACC and her record is 2-1. They looked at each other in surprise because they just fought each other on the last show. The other fight will have Amoeba vs Yuko Kagoshima. Amoeba trains at DEEP. Her record is 2-0 and her last win was over Hanako Kobayashi on the May 16 JEWELS show. Kagoshima trains at Shinagawa and will be making her pro MMA debut. It was also announced that Hikari Shida's opponent in her grappling match will AACC trainee Ayaka Hamazki. Left to right in the pic is Amoeba, Nagano and Tomita.
