JEWELS forms partnership with Shoot Boxing

It was announced at the Apr. 3 Korakuen Hall Shoot Boxing show that JEWELS and Shoot Boxing have formed a business relationship. The plan is for fighters to go back and forth between the two companies. Several MMA fighters including Megumi Fujii and MIKU have already appeared for Shoot Boxing. In attendance at the show for the announcement were from left to right Megumi Fujii, teenage shoot boxer Lena, HIROKO and Saori Ishioka. Lena was the girl who recently worked that K-1 show in Korea. She lost a close match. It was announced that Saori Ishioka will fight on the May 16 Shinjuku FACE JEWELS show under Shoot Boxing rules. Her opponent will be announced later but Ishioka said she would like to face Lena. Fujii thanked Shoot Boxing for allowing her to fight there last year and she looks forward to doing it again. HIROKO said she's sad because she's too big and they won't find an opponent for her. It was said that there would be a free exchange of talent but there wasn't any indication that any of the shoot boxers would try MMA. Lena said she wants to concentrate on winning a Shoot Boxing title and didn't seem to express any interest in MMA. It remains to be seen what kind of talent exchange there will be but if it's more of a financial arrangement, that's probably a good thing for JEWELS anyway. JEWELS also have opened a martial arts school at the MUSE Academy Of Music and Masako Yoshida is head instructor. Pro wrestler Atsuko Emoto will assist her. You may recall that SMACKGIRL once had their school there. JEWELS is actively seeking students to compete in amateur MMA and have an amateur show coming up on Apr. 19.
