Artist:Paul Jones
Song:Not Me
Album:Buxton '95:The Alexis Korner Memorial Concert
Though virtually unknown in North America, guitarist Alexis Korner is revered in England as the Father Of British Blues. Many young musicians went through his group Blues Incorporated on their way to fame and fortune. It was a very sad day in the British music industry when Korner died in 1984. So in 1995, several of his friends got together for The Alexis Korner Memorial Concert. This song Not Me leads off the 2CD set. It's by former Manfred Mann lead singer Paul Jones. Along with Mick Jagger & John Baldry, he was a singer in Blues Incorporated. He's had some solo success in England and more recently has been a DJ on BBC2 Radio and leads his group Blues Band. Other notables appearing include Jack Bruce, Chris Farlowe, Dave Berry, Tony McPhee, Mick Abrahams & Zoot Money. Fans of British blues will want to check out Buxton '95. Here's Paul Jones performing I'm A Bad Bad Boy on the 1966 German TV show Beat Beat Beat.
